Zelkova 'City Sprite'
Common Name: Zelkova Serrata City Sprite
City Sprite Zelkova offers a leafy canopy on a smaller scale than the familiar large zelkovas. Its closely spaced shoots build a dense crown that develops an oval to vase-like outline.
Bright green leaves give the tree a fine texture in summer, and yellow foliage marks the transition into autumn. The compact branching helps it keep an orderly appearance without depending on frequent shaping.
Consider this selection for a courtyard, a modest lawn or a street planting with limited overhead space. It is still a tree rather than a shrub, so allow for its expected eighteen-foot spread and check the available clearance before choosing the planting spot.
