Weigela florida 'Wine & Roses'

Common Name: Wine & Roses Weigela

Wine & Roses weigela (Weigela florida ‘Alexandra’) pairs dark purple leaves with rosy pink trumpet-shaped flowers. Its upright shrub form provides a strong contrast to green or silver foliage in a mixed planting.

The main late-spring display may be followed by additional flowers in summer. Hummingbirds visit the tubular blooms, and the leafy branches can also be used in arrangements.

Provide full sun for strong foliage color and flowering, with well-drained soil and moderate moisture. Water during establishment and prune soon after the main spring bloom if shaping is required.
